Evening with Author, Shankari Chandran

Miles Franklin winning author, Shankari Chandran spoke with Scott Whitmont (OKG78) at our second Evening with An Author last week at the School. Shankari, who came to know Scott when he owned the Lindfield Bookshop, shared the story behind her award-winning novel, Chai Time at Cinnamon Gardens, and the soon to be released, Safe Haven. In her novels, Shankari explores issues of racism, immigration, dispossession and the nature of 'home'. According to Scott, "all lovers of superlative writing should read them immediately!" Proceeds from this event go to our Old Boys for Old Boys Program. |
